Urology

Urological surgeons perform a full range of operations on the organs of the urinary and male reproductive systems. Priority is given to complex reconstructive-plastic, as well as surgical interventions aimed at eliminating tumors. More than 200 surgical interventions of a high degree of complexity per year are performed on advanced equipment using NIR / navigation IMAGE1 S ™ 4K Rubina ™ (Karl Storz), and the Da Vinci robotic surgical system (Intuitive Surgical).

Among them, up to 80% are represented by radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer and kidney resection for tumors. Radical cystectomy with the formation of a new bladder from the intestine (according to Studer, Bricker) is usually performed laparoscopically or by a robot-assisted method with ICG blood circulation control.

What diseases do we treat?

Urology department of IRIMI Group is a highly qualified, urological team that performs all types of urological surgical interventions, including oncourology, robot-assisted interventions, reconstructive and minimally invasive surgeries.

Under the guidance of prof. R.M. Molchanov, the direction is engaged in scientific developments in the field of improving technologies for preserving the kidney during the removal of tumors, lymph node dissection during radical operations on the bladder and prostate gland, prevention of stone formation at urolithiasis. Scientific work is carried out in cooperation with the University of Tübingen (Prof. K. Schwentner, Diakonie-Klinikum, Stuttgart), Salzburg Medical University (Prof. G. Janicek, Wehrle-Diakonissen Hospital, Salzburg).

In 2020, an educational film by prof. R.M. Molchanov and his team ‘ICG-navigated laparoscopic resection for kidney cancer’ is the first made in Ukraine and the first one dealing with the use of ICG in urology.

In 2021, the second joint educational film titled ‘ICG navigation during lymphocissection in patients with prostate cancer’ was produced by Professor R.M. Molchanov and Professor G. Janicek (Austria), which is also presented on WebSurg, the international platform.
